The Studio
I live about 20 minutes from the studio, the location is great!Just near downtown Indianapolis. Free parking across the street from the studio. When you walk into the actual studio from the building and enter M10 studio's the right hand side is very welcoming with a nice lounge area & gallery complete with couch,chair and reading materials! Steve had a neat beauty dish/grey backdrop setup for head shots as a special surprise for the models portfolios! On the left across from the lounge is a separate room /gallery that was used as a dress room for the models. Perfect large size with mirror - Having a changing area for the models with-in the studio is a total plus! Behind that room is the makeup & hair area where Sasha & I worked the magic. In the middle was the private-ish setup where the models were in a box style studio setup (photos below). There is also a kitchen area where Steve had prepared a few snacks for the team! The Photographer Steve Brokaw
Mystic Moods was very lucky with this project! We teamed up with Steve Brokaw for the first time. And the outcome has been amazing! Steve is a local Indianapolis based studio fashion photographer. He works magic at M10 studio, right down town! The studio is great as I said before. And Steve went out of his way to prepare the changing room and snacks for the models, which of course was a nice personal touch!
Everything about this project went extremely smooth. Sometimes projects with multiple parties involved don't always convey the way the creator planned, however this shoot was SPOT ON! Steve was excellent and easy to
communicate with, very direct and informative!
Once we narrowed down a date and put the team together. I opened up a Mystic Moods community page so everyone would be on the same page. Steve contributed photos and ideas for the girls. With the reference photos and folders everyone was able to see the theme and concepts. Steve was able to direct and bring out each girls personality to produce Mystic Moods a perfect set of catalog images, This shoot was about 6 1/2 hours long- however it seemed to fly by. Steve took care of all the minor details so I was free'd up to get behind the scenes photos and work with the girls more.
From planning -project day- to processing Steve has been above and beyond my expectations. Everyone agree'd he was extremely down to earth and easy to work with. Steve made all of the girls feel very comfortable and he is one of the most professional photographers I have ever worked with.Turn around time was very reasonable, and his processing setup makes selecting the images that represent the shop / my concepts the best - SUPER EASY!
Steve sent about 200+ images and I choose 4 of each look of each girl. Which was hard to narrow down to 4 , but seeing options certainly gave me complete control which I really enjoyed. I would like to note how beautiful the images were even before they were finished processing.
I am so thankful and appreciative as many other designers can relate I am sure; this was an amazing experience for me! Seeing your designs go from paper -designing and then brought to life is fantastic! Watching the girls model my designs was a wonderful experience with-in it's self. Having photos for the launch is a complete bonus! Makeup Artist Sasha Starz
This was Mystic Moods first time working with Sasha. She was simply amazing to work with! Sasha perfectly recreated the make-up looks from our concept sheets to a T! Her kit had a wide range of makeup and colored bases, Sasha was also able to create lipstick shades on the spot. The girls all loved working with her and said their looks were amazing!
Sasha was extremely prepared and very friendly! I loved all of her colorful palettes and brushes! She was able to give each of the models the attitude and confidence to pull off these looks during the shoot which is a plus! I love having a make-up artist at shoots for that very reason. Having beautiful makeup really helps you "put your best face forward".
I recommend her services for any photographers/brides/models/prom or
special occasion! Sasha would be perfect for your makeup & hair needs. Her rates are very reasonable and she was worked very quick and was fun & professional!

Models
Christina, Grace,Amber & Imani
Each of the girls were amazing to work with! I love each of their looks - Imani pulled off each of her looks exactly like I was hoping her smile and personality really show in photos! Grace has a great commercial "urban outfitters/American eagle/h&m" style with a wonderful smile! Christina always brings a great attitude and is very easy to work with she has amazing curves and a versatile look! Amber was so nice and posing was so natural and fluid for her! All the girls were a blast to work with.
