What is.. Dip Dye.. What is.. Ombre ?

We have noticed there is a clear misunderstanding of the two! People have even been listing their creations as Ombre and dip dye when they are clearly just one or the other...I am not sure exactly how it got started -But here goes our best explanation of the differences between Ombre and Dip Dye.

Ombre ; is a gradual 99% of the time NATURAL color gradient change.

  Example ; Black to Brown hair Brown to Blonde hair

Dip Dye; is a tip colored effect which is normally a bold color or a drastically different shade

  Examples ; Black to pink  Blonde to blue

We hope this makes things just a tad bit clearer!

Fall Season Dip dye Hair color ideas & our dip dye extensions for this fall/ winter!

Just like with clothes and makeup darker hair is always the fashion trend for Fall/ Winter! Rather it is low-lights or all over color most ladies choose to go at least a shade or two darker for winter. I have been platinum blonde for years! And from time to time have added low-lights but never really step out of my blonde comfort zone, so I personally am extraordinarily excited about the Mystic Moods extensions winter dye pallets! Q: What makes Mystic Moods Ombre hair extensions so superior to the others that I am now seeing on the market?

A:

When the creators of Mystic Moods were just starting to make our extensions there were NO OTHER ombre hair extensions on any market, we searched the internet thoroughly prior to creating them. There are a few lower end hair brands that carry 2 toned weft, however nothing with the gradient we would consider "ombre". Since our surfacing of this product a few other shops have sprung up on various websites we've used to sell our hair extensions. Being the original does have it's perks! Our regular customers know our quality coloring techniques vs the copy shops that have sprung up. And we take pride in our skills and products! Even with the similar shops no one offers our Custom Coloring options which allow the buyer to choose every shade used Base/Blend/Tip. Made to order especially to the buyers liking!

Our ombre is created with our superior coloring techniques and color matching abilities. We offer a wide scale of various color combinations and also have warm,neutral and cool toned ombre. Mystic Moods Recent shoot with Nick Souza

We recently did a shoot last week with Nick Souza, and got to meet the amazing Stephen Simonetto!
The shoot location had to be moved last minute however the spot we setup really worked nicely for what I was going for. Special thanks to Maggie for letting us use her house for the shoot! She was also to thank for the main props we had at the shoot! Our models were the lovely Kimberly Horne, Tori Rigsby, Shanna Linsey,and Kenzi Foster. I was a bit worried about my original styling choice and how it would convey and translate across the camera, but it was - s i m p l y - perfect! Each girl wore a vintage inspired lingerie set with a head dress the posing and photography were both perfect so it looked exactly like I pictured it in my mind on the play back. The style I was going for was a mesh of Traditional style tattooing Native Indian girl portraits, Native Indian photos/Tradition, with a mix of soft 40's vintage style lingerie, muah and styling, pinup  and highfashion poses with a dreamy high fashion editorial vibe. We are so excited to see the finished photos and work on the .com! Nick was a pleasure to work with and really listened to what I was going for /had in my head and really made it come to life! It was wonderful to actually watch Mystic Moods concept transform into real life. It was so easy to translate what we were going for visually through the whole process. The girls really portrayed  the pieces and posed in my clothing choices so well! Each person really did their portion of the work to pull all of this together!

Shoot Preview Studio Summer 2012

The shoot got off to a bumpy start with delays and last minute cancellations however Blue Wren Studio's photographer Jammy Straub! Aynie with Blue Wren Studio was a amazing help with styling and preparing the models makeup and hair. Bry with mystic moods did an amazing job with mua/styling as well! All of our models were amazing! Each girl was so unique and a pleasure to work with! Special thanks to these girls in no particular order ; Selenge,Victoria,Gabrielle,Samantha,Laura,Toni,Bry,Nina N, Britney,
Nina B,Krista,Ashley,& Kendall !!

The Models were amazing and each girl really excelled with the products they were paired with!

They are each modeling a assortment of hair extensions in ; dip dye, pastel,rainbow, and ombre. Along with our various head bands, ear cuffs, earrings, & distressed do rags.

Our friends at Blue Wren Studio (located in fountain square). Will be hosting us for this event! Aynie the owner will be guest spotting and helping with our video tutorials as well. She is a very talented colorist and stylist not to mention extremely sweet and customer oriented.  If you like art they are also open on First Fridays every 1st friday of every month show casing local artists! Blue Wren also does mini workshops for any lady wanting a pinup makeover and shoot! The studio has regular candlelight yoga classes as well !! The salon is so cute and unique it is a one of a kind experience recommend for anyone who likes to treat themselves!

Sarahs Wedding Ombre hair extension submits!

We were so excited to work on sarahs extensions! FOR HER WEDDING! The day every girl wants to look the best she could possibly look! How exciting! She is a colorist herself at a salon so it is always exciting to work on fellow stylists projects and we always feel so honored to be acknowledged by others in the profession. Sarah needed ombre hair extensions to match her current ombre hair. From only 2 photos Mystic Moods was able to perfectly match her extensions to her ombre hues.
With our unique custom blending techniques we achieve salon quality color matching. Sarahs hair had very little warm tones and was a very neutral-cool beachy ombre. Which matched perfectly with her beautiful beach wedding!
